I am going to do this day by day because we had so much fun each day- that I want plenty of room to write and show some fun pictures. After our trip last June, Larry started planning a spring break trip back to Branson. Larry was able to get us a 3 bedroom condo for very inexpensive. He planned for the shows we would see.
The week before spring break was a busy one- like most weeks. Then, Larry's- Uncle Tee passed away in Georgia. Larry flew to Georgia on Wednesday, the funeral was on Thursday in Swainsboro, GA, and the burial was in Greensboro. Larry headed home on Friday, however, due to storms, he ended up driving in the rain to Atlanta with two other men and then caught a flight at midnight to get home. I had done my best to pack and prepare to get us ready to go on Saturday night.
One more flashback of the week, Madi and I had gone to Dallas on Thursday evening March 11, 2010 and had a great Mexican food dinner with Mandy and then saw Taylor Swift in concert. It was a great concert- we had a lot of fun- and were really tired the next day! Nana kept Camille and Parker for 48 hours at her house so we could do all this fun stuff.
So, Saturday morning, we were up and headed to Branson. The drive was about 8 hours and wasn't too bad.
On Sunday morning, our first gig was to Ride the Ducks! We really loved this last summer- so it was a great way to start our trip. The kids bought some huge make your own pixie sticks with some of their fun money. What a mess-- blue mouths for all! Later that day we headed to the Dixie Stampede. Now this was really fun for all! It was in a huge rodeo arena with probably 600 seats. Everyone was served a whole chicken, soup, bread, corn and apple pasty-- and NO utensils. The food was great. The show was about the North vs. the South, lots of singing and horse riding. Parker was so intense in his watching- he could not eat. Then on the way out of the stadium - I ran into my dear friend from nursing school- Tina Thomas. Oh- it was so wonderful to see her, and she got signed up on facebook, and we have communicated a couple of times. I have such great memories of time with her.
This concluded our Sunday in Branson.
