Monday was our day to spend at the College of the Ozarks. Oh, this is a wonderful and beautiful place. The students work a specific amount of hours on the campus each semester, and then their tuition is free. We visited the tractor museum-- lots of John Deere tractors! We visited the mill, where we bought some pancake mix and apple butter. Madi bought a necklace that some of the students made. We also learned about basket weaving. Across the campus is a huge museum. There was a room for just kids to see animals, and rocks, and do some drawings. Then there were large rooms of music history, a large room of game animals, and some beautiful antiques. Then we had lunch at the beautiful dining room. It is all first class and the food is marvelous- made and served by the students. There are a couple of favorites.... last summer at this dining room... Camille and Parker experienced their first root beer in a bottle. So- first on the list was a root beer for all the children. Then we ordered some of the huge cupcakes to take home, because momma had ordered chocolate cobbler! So yummy! We headed back for a little rest at the condo, then back for the NIAI or NAIA- basketball games. That, too was great fun. the kids enjoyed the basketball, snacks, huge servings of this "to die for" ice cream, and even snagged a few snacks off the indoor blimp that was carrying snacks.
Nobody was going hungry today!
