4/29/2011- Larry flew to Georgia to visit his father and Grandma Green for the weekend. PaPaw has had some health concerns and he needed to go and spend some time. Therefore, I was Super Duper Single Mom for four days. We had a great little weekend, however, it does make me really thankful for my awesome husband. It takes both of us to get it all done. Friday night we kicked it off with picking up Gretchen and Jo and headed to swim at the rec center. We swam and swam and had fun in the gym then headed to Olive Garden for dinner. Six hungry - busy children at 8pm eating- is always an adventure. Then Madi went home with Jo. Gretch went home with Camille and I. They finally passed out at midnight. Parker had a soccer game at 9am. I headed to get Madi. Back with my own kids now, we met Granny and Brandi for lunch at Wendy's. After lunch, Granny, Brandi and Madi were off to tour the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium. They had a great time, took tons of pictures, and saw the locker rooms, suites, and tunnels. Granny was in heaven-- she loved it! During the afternoon I cleaned and cleaned. Then we headed out to see my 2nd grade best buddy Christi turn 40! It brought back such fun memories of my childhood. Christi and I became friends as second graders when she moved to Clark Rd just across from my family. Sadly, we were finishing up our new home in Crowley and preparing to move-- so we had school days together and many sleep overs. To this very day, Christi is the kind of friend that you may not see for many months or years-- and we can instantly pick up where we left off. She truly is a precious friend of a lifetime. Now she is an awesome wife and mother of 2 kiddos. Her parents still had the juke box that I remember. Thirty years ago it was an antique-- and so cool to play Rod Stewart's "if you think I am sexy"song. Camille and Parker got to ride the horses that belong to her parents and then we headed off to meet the girls. For the evening, Cam and Parker are staying with the neighbors and entertaining the twins. Granny, Brandi, Madi and myself headed to the Yucatan Taco Stand for dinner and then on to Billy Bob's to see George Jones. It was a fun evening-- and we plan to go back real soon. Now Sunday morning, it appeared it was going to storm all day. We decided to get up and head to the roller rink. We skated for almost 3 hours. Madi is a natural ( we skated more in her younger days), Parker gave it good try. Camille had a rough start. Crazy legs can be so hard to manuever sometimes, but she stayed with it- fall after fall-- and just kept on going. By the end of the afternoon-- she was doing great! I do plan for us to go back and skate more. There are so few rinks in the area and they are all dirty and filthy--but we did have so much fun! Home, baths, and bed for all!! Skating is serious exercise-- we were all worn out!
Thankfully- dad will be home tomorrow night.
