Today has been a very full day. Last summer we went to the Van Grow art place where you paint your own chosen piece of pottery and pick it up the next week. The kids have been begging to do this again this summer. Madi had painted a turtle, Par painted a cup and saucer, and Cam painted a unicorn. Par has said he needed to go again because his set broke. (Prob it got thrown up against the wall in a fit by him.) So-- there is a new place in Joshua called the Art Barn. Now, Cam received an invite yesterday to a friends party at the Van Grow- which thrilled her beyond all imagination. Therefore, today she had a special lunch with dad and I took Madi and Par and NaNa to the Barn. Madi again chose a turtle to paint, Par chose a pirate (recent obsession with Captain Hook), I painted a spoon rest for the kitchen, and NaNa painted an ornament. Madi and Par worked with great effort to detail. We are anxious to see the finished products! Then we had a little Taco Bueno for lunch and stopped by Bealls. On the way home, we picked up friend Allison for Madi. At home, we proceeded to prepare to tie-dye shirts. We went and picked up Cam's friend Nikki for the event. At home, we painted and painted and had a great and very messy time. The moment that I stepped away to get more dye- Par and Cam exchanged squirts. Tonight- Cam appears to not be receiving enough oxygen due to her blue tint - pretty much on face and arm and legs. Needless to say, dad was not thrilled with the mess. We took Nikki home, we ate roast for dinner, Larry took Allison and Madi to swim with Par and Cam looking on. I went next door to help out with the sweet twin boys. Their momma is really tired and not feeling well. Staying at home is such a emotional and physical challenge. I am thankful the Madi and I have had the opportunity to help out this summer and love on those little boys. Tonight - I have spread the mulch in the front flower/weed bed. Larry and Madi are watching WipeOut together. That has been a favorite show for Larry and all the kids on Wednesday nights this summer. It is kinda like a stupid olympics- with crazy tricks that are impossible to complete and always include extended spinning time and then some good mud. Everyone gets a good laugh!
I have loved this summer with the family. This has been my first real summer to play, have some money to spend on fixing up the house, and truly being off for a full 10 weeks. We still have a few more weeks- but it seems to be ending way too soon.
I am signing off--
Love to my sweet children,
Mom
